A fascinating idea. Viewing your browser tabs as part of the filesystem, allowing you to use standard Unix filesystem tools to view and manipulate the tab contents. The Unix "everything is a file" concept is still a powerful one.

Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries. - Anne Herbert

Yesterday, NimCoon helped with a New Year's Party. 🥳

A group of high school girls managed to get a speaker system but couldn't hook up a phone to it. Two of them came to me. Well, they came for someone else who wasn't available. They had a YouTube playlist and a USB thumb drive.

It was an easy job for NimCoon to download the music from YouTube as mp3 files. They were weird remixes of some songs, most of which I haven't seen before.

Me? I slept through the night. 🤷‍♂️

For all their problems, I'd like to thank computers for giving us a glimpse of a better world.

A bright and colorful world of overwhelming abundance. A world in which we all have superpowers.

A world in which we are free to be ourselves. A world in which we can find others we want to be with, and keep others who are toxic to us away.

The dopamine we get from interacting with this better world is not fake. A better world can be addiction-forming of course, like food. Who wouldn't want more?

Let us all join hands and make 2021 a wholesome and fruitful year.

Be nice to each other. Stay safe for each other. Spend more time with each other.

Switch to FOSS. Switch to small tech. Move away from surveillance capitalism.

"Join hands", well, you know what I mean.

I love you all. Happy New Year.

Today, on this 305th day of March 2020, I wish you all the best. May the 306th day truly bring us a new year and new hope for a better year ahead! Happy New Year!

My primary reason for writing book reviews/summaries is that I keep forgetting everything I've read in a short while after reading a book.

I wrote this review in the 3 days after I finished the book. I wanted to continue in the later days but got too distracted and didn't remember the book strongly enough to continue. 🤐

“Japan to create first wooden satellites that completely burn up on re-entry to eliminate space junk”

Seeing this headline, and then thinking about traditional japanese joinery techniques ...
